Chile and Peru are destinations of wonders, sensations, and marvels. They are vast, rugged and pristine, full of historical splendor, stunning mountain scenery, roaring tropical waterfalls, and great inspiration. Oasis’ original and luxurious journey begins in mountain-ringed Santiago, Chile – voted the number one destination in 2011 by The New York Times.

We venture into the famous Maipo Valley with its sprawling, world-renowned vineyards - we visit a few and taste some great wine – then off to the nearby UNESCO World Heritage central coast town of Valparaiso and Viña del Mar. Continue north to the Atacama Desert – the driest and most surreal place on earth. Then by contrast we head out to Easter Island, a bewildering open air museum in the middle of the South Pacific and home to the unique and lost culture of the Rapa Nui. For three days we explore the Moai and breathtaking scenery and culture before heading back to the mainland and Peru. After a thorough exploration of Lima we head up to the magnificent old Inca capital of Cusco with its unrivaled historical legacy. We wander the Inca ruins of the Urubamba Valley, and board the Hiram Bingham train to Machu Picchu, the crown jewel of the Inca’s legacy, and probably the most startlingly dramatic archaeological site in either the New or Old World. Join us on this unsurpassed, first class journey that experiences the very best of some of the most sublimes places on the planet. |
