OUR MISSION
At Oasis, travel is not just another destination,
but part of the soul - geared to knowledgeable, inquisitive and
enthusiastic travelers with a desire to learn, venture beyond the
obvious and who are aware of the true distinction between simply
going somewhere and taking a journey.
Journeys are crafted to capture the spirit of a place through distinctive
itineraries, special historical and cultural events and in-depth,
informative lectures and discussions, given by featured guest lecturers
and local guest speakers. With these elements, our travelers foster
a better understanding and appreciation of not only the ancient
but also contemporary issues pertaining to the topics of the day.
Our vision is to create for others a sense of wonder and joy through
first-hand experience of distant lands. Our travelers seek to push
the limits of travel in order to experience the thrill of discovery,
the wisdom of ancient culture and traditions, and simply, another
place in time.
OUR WISDOM
Our journeys do not compromise style. Nothing is left to chance.
We are small groups of 10 - 20 travelers, which enable flexibility
to change course in a moment's notice. Should the need arise to
take in an impromptu local event, we do it. Each journey is accompanied
by a Guest Lecturer and Tour Director, who ensure that all the trip
details are taken care of, that your luggage is where it's supposed
to be, and who will give you recommendations on the latest places
to eat, shop or simply watch the world go by.
INFORMED LEARNING
An integral part of our journeys is the educational element as
provided by Guest Lecturers, local speakers and invited guests.
Specialists in art, archaeology, religion and culture, they provide
and nurture the framework of our learning experience, fostering
a better understanding of the places we visit. As well, our world-wide
web of contacts, guides and local hosts share a profound desire
to impart their knowledge and favorite stories, offering an insight
which is more by friendship then by a service and something no guidebook
or travelogue can impart.
Oasis
is privileged to have Mr. Eugen Koenitz as a frequent Guest Lecturer
on many journeys. Eugen is a specialist in Asian and Middle Eastern
art, religion and culture and brings a wealth of life experience
and insight to his talks and informal discussions. He has lead numerous
study programs over the years with America's leading educational
and cultural institutions and regularly takes groups and individuals
to Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
TRAVEL INTEGRITY
We commit to preserve and respect the heritage, culture and environment
of the places we visit, traveling in an environmentally responsible
manner. Each of our journeys is a one-of-a-kind experience defined
by the combination of travel details, the unexpected, fellow travelers
and the events of the day.
