Burma is a country of mesmerizing pagodas and iridescent rice fields. Bama, Burma and now Myanmar, the name reflects the thousands of glittering, golden temples and the wealth of natural resources – from teak, oil, jade and rubies to some of the richest farmland in Asia. It's a place that has been violated by the regime, isolated and ostracized by the international community and travelers alike, but a visit to these lands is essential in understanding the spirit and soul of the people that are backbone of this ancient and revered culture. Oasis’ journey explores the unique culture and traditions of urban and rural life through intimate interaction with its people. Whether on the plains of Bagan, cruising down the Ayeyarwaddy River, mingling with the hill tribes of Inle Lake, this journey will reveal truths of a truly spiritual and thriving culture.
